Voter registration deadline for the special primary election on Jan. 26 to replace state Rep. Michael Scionti is 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28.
Residents living in the 49 precincts that make up House District 58 must be registered by then to vote. The special general election is scheduled for Feb. 23.
Voter Registration Forms are available in English and Spanish at both Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Offices, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., 16th Floor and 2514 N. Falkenburg Rd., Division of Motor Vehicle offices or county libraries. Registration forms may also be downloaded from www.VoteHillsborough.org or requested by calling (813) 272-5850.
The election supervisor's office encourages voters to update their names, addresses, signatures and party affiliation using the same forms.
To date, only one person - West Tampa activist Janet Cruz -- has filed to replace Scionti, who announced earlier this month that he will leave the Florida House to serve as U.S. deputy assistant secretary of defense.
