A Sarasota woman crossing a street this morning became the victim of a fatal hit-and-run, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 32-year-old woman, whose identity will be released after her family is notified, was crossing Bee Ridge Road at Asbury Place about 2:05 a.m. when she was hit by a light-colored truck that did not stop, troopers said.
Troopers said the truck should have front-end damage.
The patrol asks that anyone with information about the truck or its driver should contact Corp. D. Staley at (941) 483-5911, ext. 310.
