A teen is in serious condition this morning, the victim of a drive-by shooting.
The 14-year-old was hanging out at the corner of Lake Avenue and Avon Street just after midnight when a dark green Nissan Altima occupied by an unknown number of black males drove by, according to a release from the Tampa Police Department.
Someone in the car fired several shots in the victim's direction with one bullet going through the victim's bicep and entering his side, police said.
The suspects fled west on East Lake Avenue.
The victim was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital, where he was last reported in serious condition, police said.
