A 13-month-old boy died this morning after he was found in the family pool in Dunedin, according to the Pinellas Sheriff's Office.
Matthew Mannix III apparently climbed out of his crib and opened an unlocked bathroom door which leads to the pool deck at his family's home at 2515 Marquis Drive in Dunedin, the sheriff's office said.
He was found floating in the pool by his grandfather at about 7:30 a.m. today, the sheriff's office said. He was rushed to Mease Countryside Hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later.
