A woman bit and kicked a teen after beating him with a board because she thought he stole her boyfriend's iPod, Tampa police say.
Ana Soto, 29, of 224 E. Nordica St., Tampa, faces two counts of aggravated child abuse.
The 15-year-old boy said Soto lost control when she was trying to discipline him by hitting him in the arms and back with a 1-by-3-foot board, according to an arrest report. Soto then bit the teen in the arm and kicked him in the face, according to the report. A 13-year old teenage relative tried to intervene, but Soto chased her with the board and hit her in the ribs, the report said.
Police were called to Memorial Middle School to talk with the boy. They later went to the scene of the incident and recovered the board and talked to Soto, the report said.
Soto was taken to the Orient Road Jail.
Child protection inspectors placed the teens with other family members.
