Police are investigating whether a man who plunged onto a city street from an Interstate 4 overpass today jumped or fell accidentally.
The man, who is in his late 40s, landed on North 34th Street about 1:48 p.m., closing northbound 34th Street between Columbus Drive and 7th Avenue during the immediate investigation, Tampa police spokeswoman Janelle McGregor said. The road has since reopened.
Paramedics transported the man to St. Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries, McGregor said.
