All northbound lanes of Interstate 275 in Manatee County have reopened after an accident closed the approach to the Sunshine Skyway.
The accident blocked northbound lanes, but traffic was moved onto the median until the wreckage was cleared just north of the southern rest area.
The wreck was reported to the Florida Highway Patrol at 8:07 a.m.
The wreck involved four vehicles with one vehicle on its side, said Lt. Joel Granata, spokesman for St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue. One person needed to be extricated from a vehicle and there was at least one injury, he said.
