A family fight over Thanksgiving food left two people spending the holiday in jail, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
The day started off bad when Donald Merle Smith Jr., 49, got mad no one was helping him cook Thanksgiving dinner, the sheriff's office report states. He went into his son's bedroom and started yelling at his son and his son's wife.
Eventually, Smith's wife, Joan Ethel Brewster, stepped into the melee and scratched and pulled the hair of her daughter-in-law, the sheriff's office reports.
Smith and Brewster both of 9611 Rex St., Hudson, were arrested by Pasco deputies at 8:30 a.m. Each faces one charge of misdemeanor domestic battery. They are being held without bail at the Land O' Lakes Jail.
