Two men whose plane crashed in rural Pasco County on Sunday are in critical condition, according to Pasco sheriff's office officials.
Pilot Arthur J. Michaud, 49, of 10524 Merlin Drive, New Port Richey, and Anthony Parisi, 46, of 3055 Sugar Bear Trail, Palm Harbor, crash-landed at Pilot Country on State Road 52 in Shady Hills about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
It's not clear from where the single-engine Piper aircraft took off, according to Kevin Doll, sheriff's office spokesman.
On Friday, a single-engine plane crashed in Zephyrhills, killing the pilot, a 46-year-old newly married mother and her 7-year-old daughter.
That crash is also being investigated.
The plane departed from Gainesville bound for Lakeland about 7:40 p.m. Friday, a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman has said. En route, the pilot radioed about engine trouble and was rerouted to Zephyrhills Municipal but the plane crashed about 8:20 p.m., less than a mile away from the airport.
