A New Port Richey man was charged today in the traffic death of a 46-year-old woman last month.
Daniel M. Ray, 37, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence/manslaughter and vehicular homicide in the Nov. 4 death of Sonia Sofia De Jesus Serrano.
His bond was set at $60,000.
De Jesus Serrano was killed when she collided with Ray's Nissan Xterra at the intersection of Sligh and Nebraska avenues. Police said she swerved trying to avoid Ray's vehicle and hit a HARTline bus. No one on the bus was injured.
De Jesus Serrano died at the scene. Ray was taken to Tampa General Hospital in serious-but-stable condition.
The accident closed on ramps for Interstate 275 for hours.
