A 47-year-old Manatee County man was pistol-whipped during an armed invasion of his home, deputies say.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office:
The victim, whose name is not being released because the suspects are still at large, was returning to his apartment on the 1500 block of 34th Ave. E. when he was approached by two men. The suspects entered the apartment with the victim and hit him over the left eye and nose with the revolver.
The suspects began searching the living room. The armed suspect began to walk down the hallway when an 18-year-old who lives in the apartment came out. The suspects then fled the apartment without taking anything.
The victim sustained a 3 inch cut above his eye. He was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital by family members for treatment.
