President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will hold a town hall meeting in Tampa on Thursday at the Bob Martinez Sports Center at the University of Tampa.
The program begins at 12:30 p.m., though doors will open at 10:30 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public; however, tickets are required. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. in the front lobby of the sports center.
There is still no clear word on the subject of Obama's visit, but high-speed rail advocates believe the president will announce a Florida rail grant.
"It is likely our efforts to create thousands of new jobs for Floridians have paid off," U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa, said Friday on the rail subject. "I look forward to joining the president and vice president in the Tampa Bay area on Thursday."
The University of Tampa has canceled daytime classes on Thursday because of the event. Classes will resume at 5 p.m.
