A jack-knifed tanker truck that blocked the southbound lanes of Interstate 275 just south of the downtown exits this morning has been moved and all lanes now are open, officials said.
Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Steve Gaskins said the highway had been at a standstill during rush hour, but the department's website showed all lanes open by 10:50 a.m. The 8:35 a.m. wreck involved the jack-knifed tractor-trailer and one other vehicle, Gaskins said.
Troopers said the tractor-trailer, loaded with hot asphalt, was driven by Enner Guerro, 68, of Tampa, when it slid on the wet road and jackknifed across the interstate. The truck pinned a 2010 Mercedes-Benz driven by Martin Ryan, 42, of Tampa against a wall.
No one was injured, troopers said, and none of the asphalt spilled from the tanker.
No charges were immediately filed, though the incident remains under investigation.
