JACKSONVILLE — Authorities say three people were killed and a child was seriously injured in a Jacksonville shooting, just two days after 11 people were shot a few miles away.
The Florida Times-Union reports that two men died at the scene Tuesday afternoon, and a woman died at a nearby hospital. A small child was in surgery Tuesday night.
Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford wouldn't speculate if Tuesday's attack was in retaliation to Sunday's shooting, but he acknowledged it was a possibility.
Authorities say more than 100 people were attending a birthday party at a park Sunday when two men showed up and started shooting. A pregnant woman who was hit lost her baby.
