Dozens of people gathered Friday night outside the Ashington Reserve of Tampa Palms subdivision where Calyx Schenecker lived to share their grief at the deaths of the 16-year-old girl and her 13-year-old brother.
About 200 friends, neighbors and a couple of teachers from King High School lit candles and shared memories of the teenager, who Tampa police say were shot to death by their mother, Julie Schenecker.
Friends hugged and cried, talking about how caring Calyx was and how much she loved her brother.
Some said she would've been happy to see so many friends gathered - and a little embarrassed.
Julie Schenecker, 50, was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder.
