A lone female robber stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a Metro PCS store Saturday night, making her getaway on a mountain bicycle, authorities reported.
The 6:21 p.m. heist occurred in the shop at 4247 Bee Ridge Road, according to Sarasota County sheriff's deputies.
The robber walked into the store and pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money, deputies said. After she got the cash, she hopped on a dark mountain bicycle and pedaled east on Bee Ridge Road.
The robber was described as being white, about 5-foot-6 and weighing 175 pounds. She wore a black baseball cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt, white sunglasses and long blue jean carpenter style shorts.
She wore white tennis shoes with black stripes on the outside edges.
