Michael Lohan's on-again, off-again girlfriend – who is accusing him of beating her up at her Tampa apartment – was arrested early this morning after committing battery at Los Angeles International Airport, airport police Sgt. Belinda Nettles said.
At 12:05 a.m., airport police responded to Terminal 6 in response to a report of an irate passenger refusing to deplane. Kate Major, 28, was denied boarding because she was intoxicated, police said.
"As Major deplaned under escort by airline personnel, she committed battery on the subject conducting the escort," a news release from airport police states.
Major was charged with battery and taken to the airport police station for processing. She was issued a release from custody citation and scheduled to appear in court at a later date, police said.
Major's flight information wasn't included in a police report.
Michael Lohan, 51, is the father of actress Lindsay Lohan. He was arrested Oct. 25 in Tampa and charged with domestic battery against Major. He was released Oct. 26 after a judge ordered him to have no contact with her.
But on Oct. 27, he violated terms of his release and fell 34 feet from a hotel roof while attempting to flee officers who came to rearrest him, Tampa police said.
Police were called to Major's apartment at 1:05 a.m. Oct. 27 because she said Michael Lohan was harassing her with phone calls, police Lt. S.J. Lee said. While officers were at her apartment, Lohan called again and Major put him on speakerphone, police said.
Lohan asked Major how they could work things out and where she was moving to. He also told her he didn't throw the remote control at her, but that he threw it at the floor. He also said he did not threaten her.
Officers went to the Tahitian Inn on South Dale Mabry Highway, where Lohan was staying in Room 307. According to police, Lohan spotted the officers, tried to hide and then ran from them, eventually jumping from above a third-floor balcony in an attempt to escape.
Lohan is in a Hillsborough County jail and is slated for a hearing Wednesday. He faces charges of resisting arrest without violence, violation of domestic violence injunction and contempt of court.
