MANATEE — Authorities say a Tampa Bay area farm worker was killed after a metal boom on his tractor came in contact with a live electrical wire.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports that the tractor 44-year-old Fernando Melechor was driving hit the wire this afternoon. The Bradenton Herald reports that he was electrocuted when he got off the tractor and touched the ground.
Investigators say the death appears to be an accident.
