Orta made sure of that Wednesday by setting up camp in front of Best Buy in St. Petersburg – nine days ahead of Black Friday.
Orta, who may be the first in the Tampa Bay area in line for Black Friday, coordinated the early campout with three families, who are sharing supplies and a tent at the store's Tyrone Square Mall location.
Deals on plasma flat screens and laptops drew Orta and the others to their concrete campground.
"We're all students and we've got to pinch a penny," Orta said. "It's affordable right now."
The families plan to pass the time by playing games and studying.
