The Coast Guard said three men had to be rescued early today from a capsized catamaran in the Gulf of Mexico off Cedar Key.

A family member reported the men missing Sunday night, the Coast Guard said.

The men had left Cedar Key to sail a 16-foot fiberglass catamaran around Atsena Otie Key, about a mile south of Cedar Key.

A Coast Guard aircraft crew spotted the men early today after seven hours of searching. The men were atop their boat's capsized hull, adrift two miles off Atsena Otie Key.

No injuries were reported.

The men had no motor, lights or emergency equipment on board, the Coast Guard said.
