Man, 18, found in Thonotosassa ditch on Jan. 16 dies

An 18-year-old man found injured in a ditch in Thonotosassa on Jan. 16 has died, deputies said.

Christopher Charles Daniels was found at 11:15 p.m. on the south side of Franklin Road, just west of the entrance to Antioch Park, Hillsborough County Sherriff's deputies said.

His injuries appeared to have been caused by a strike from a car, deputies said.

He was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.

Daniels' car was found in Antioch Park and was not damaged, deputies said.

Deputies would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the area between 9 and 11 p.m. on Jan. 16. Anyone with information should call 813-247-8200.
