Spirit Airlines, known for its less expensive flights, is now offering seasonal trips between Tampa and Pittsburgh, beginning Dec. 18.
The airline will start its seasonal service between Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, which serves the Latrobe/Pittsburgh area and Tampa International Airport. It will also fly in and out of the Fort Myers airport beginning in December.
“While the summers in Western Pennsylvania can be wonderful, the winter here can be cold and long,” said Mark Kopczak, Spirit’s vice president of network planning. “That’s why Spirit is providing more flights to warm and sunny Florida...”
The non-stop flights are in addition to Spirit’s year-round service to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
“Tampa International Airport has long been a favorite destination for our winter guests from the Pittsburgh area,” said airport Chief Executive Officer Joe Lopano. “We’re thrilled to be expanding our Spirit Airlines partnership and offering this seasonal service.”
