At Airheads Trampoline Arena flights begin every 20 minutes.
These aren't airplane flights. Instead, these are flights you can experience by jumping on the 11,000 square feet of trampoline space at the new business.
Steve Johnston and Rich Heruska started the business after working together for 15 years.
"We got excited about the family entertainment sector," Heruska said. "Why not make it a business?"
The partners designed Airheads to feel like a flight experience. Employees are called flight attendants, customers receive boarding passes and before being allowed on to the trampoline they are given safety rules.
Boarding passes are provided in one-hour increments for $12. Any additional time is $10 an hour. When not on the trampoline, adults and children can play at the Aircade or purchase food from the Aircafe.
"Its fun for all ages," Johnston said. "We have just as good a time as the kids."
The arena, which opened Aug. 14, offers dodgeball games, birthday parties and soon will be hosting "airobics" fitness classes.
Johnston and Heruska also expect to host fundraisers. The first one raised money for the families of Tampa Police Officers Jeff Kocab and Dave Curtis, who were killed in the line of duty June 29.
A fundraiser "to honor the unsung heroes of the police department" was better than hosting a grand opening, Heruska said.
