An Ybor City reveler was jailed early Sunday on charges he smacked a police horse on its flanks in an attempt to scare it.
Shirone Eric Turner, 26, of 3341 Atlantis Drive, Holiday, was released from jail Sunday afternoon after posting $500 bail, records state. He was charged with striking a police horse, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Tampa police said the horse and rider were performing crowd control maneuvers in the 1800 block of Seventh Avenue just after 3 a.m. Sunday when the incident happened.
