The Ballast Point Elementary School Dads Club hosted a Bulldog Bash fundraiser on April 18 to raise money for a covered basketball pavilion. The event kicked off a three-year campaign to raise $75,000.
With the theme, "Gimme Shelter," the Bash took place at the home of Todd and Shari Mezrah and featured live music by the Urbane Cowboys, led by a Ballast Point dad and DJ Dion, another Ballast Point resident.
There was a live auction, silent auction and raffle of donated items and services from families and local vendors. More than $15,000 was raised for the Ballast Point Pavilion Campaign. Club President Robert Bakker wrote in an e-mail after the event, "I am really proud of what we did and how all you guys came through."
