Veterans Parade On Tap Saturday

»  Comments | Post a Comment

If you enjoy marching bands and want to show some military support, head over to Hanley Road on Saturday morning to catch the 15th annual Veterans Day parade.

In addition to honoring the men and women who have served in the armed forces, the parade will pay special tribute to Army Cpl. Aaron Griner, a Tampa native who died June 28, 2006, in Afghanistan when the Humvee in which he was riding rolled over a land mine.

Parade organizers expect to hand out about 1,500 small American flags to spectators.

The parade begins at 10 a.m., and is expected to last about two hours.

The route goes west on Barry Road, heads south on Hanley Road and ends at Paula Drive.
