Housing assistance workshop is Saturday

TAMPA --

A free workshop, Florida Housing Help, is designed to educate and assist families facing foreclosure.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the University Area Community Center, 14013 N. 22nd St. The workshop is sponsored by the Florida Department of Financing Services and Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink.

The workshop will include about 60 counselors from various agencies, including the Housing and Education Alliance, Consumer Credit Counseling Services and the Center for Affordable Housing.

Exhibitors for an information fair include the Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Department, the Tampa Housing and Community Development Division and various mortgage lenders.
