Skating invitational ready to roll

PORT RICHEY --

SpinNations Skating Center is presenting its eighth Presidents Day Invitational this weekend.

It will feature a number of highly ranked artistic roller skaters from across America.

More than 140 competitors are expected to be in Port Richey for the two-day competition that combines USA Roller Sports events with beginner events.

Skaters range from 4 to 78 years of age and perform in figure, solo, pairs and team dance events.

Doors open at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at 8345 Congress St., and the event runs through 8:30 p.m.

Sunday's festivities begin at the same time and end around 4:45 p.m.

Admission is $5 at the door.
