The last of 400 relocated Mosaic employees settled into the company's new 110,000-square-foot headquarters this week in Circa FishHawk.
Mosaic, one of the world's largest producers of concentrated phosphate and potash, decided to move employees scattered at offices in Mulberry, Fort Lonesome, Riverview and Tampa to a new headquarters in Lithia after a study showed a great number of its staff lives in eastern Hillsborough County.
The four-story, $20 million building is certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council if a developer designs, constructs and operates a building using five key areas of human and environmental health.
Dozens of FishHawk area businesses attended a welcome reception for Mosaic in October. To show its support of the community, Mosaic donated $100,000 to the FishHawk Youth Sports Association.
Circa FishHawk developer Newland Communities plans a village center with shops, offices and restaurants connected by a walkway to Mosaic's headquarters.
Eventually, Circa FishHawk will have 1,800 homes on the 710-acre tract, just south of FishHawk Ranch.
