The holiday season got an early kickoff Saturday when the Shops at Wiregrass, at State Road 56 and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard launched Symphony in Lights,a holiday light show with more then 250,000 LED lights choreographed to the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Shows will be nightly on the hour from 6 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 31.
Volunteers will sell blinking star pins on the weekends through Dec. 24 as part of the Light up the Night program to support a different local charity each week. Photos with Santa will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday in the Kids Play Area at Center Court.
The mall allows pet photos with Santa every Monday night (Santa Paws) from 4 to 8 p.m. through Dec. 20, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit local animal charities.
The synthetic ice rink also will be back on Piazza Avenue by the restaurants with skating for a nominal fee, which includes skate rental, from noon to 9 p.m. through Jan. 2.
