The third-annual Daddy-Daughter Dance will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Hillsborough Community College Trinkle Center. All registrations are needed by Friday. The cost is $25 per couple and $10 for each additional girl. The fee includes entertainment, food, flowers and a photo. Road to be resurfaced
A stretch of Coronet Road being resurfaced is closed to daytime traffic, and is scheduled to remain so until work is completed in early April.
The closed portion is between Sparkman and Clemons roads.

The 53rd-annual Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award Luncheon will be Feb. 22 in the Red Rose Inn & Suites ballroom.

Internet safety talk
Deputy William Menendez of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's Community Outreach Division will give an Internet safety presentation from 2 to 3 p.m., Feb. 22, at Bruton Memorial Library. He will discuss guarding against identity theft, phishing and other email scams, plus creating safe user names and passwords, and avoiding computer viruses.

Twirlette registration
The Hillsborough County Twirlettes will conduct winter registration for girls, ages 6 through high school, interested in baton-twirling classes.
Plant City registration and classes are in the Martin Luther King Recreation Center, 1601 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., at 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
The 45-minute classes provide the opportunity to learn single- and double-baton skills and flag-twirling. In Brandon, registration and classes are at Foundation Christian Academy, 3955 Lithia/Pinecrest Road at 5 p.m. every Thursday.

Kindergarten roundup
The Walden Elementary kindergarten roundup for the 2012-13 school year will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Feb. 23.
Children who are age 5 on or before Sept. 1 this year are eligible for kindergarten registration. Required documents are: birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security number and proof of residency and a physical exam within a year of the first day of school. An electric bill, current lease or current property tax receipt are acceptable proof of residency.
Visitors may park in the lot on the north side of the campus, 2800 Turkey Creek Road.
