»  Comments

A pedestrian killed early Friday after she was struck by a gasoline tanker truck while crossing Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas County has been identified as Nicole J. Lojewski, 24, of Brandon.

Lojewski was struck while trying to cross Gandy from Derby Lane with two other people about 3 a.m. Friday.

The tanker driver stopped, but witnesses told officials another car ran over the woman and continued driving. A search for that driver is ongoing.

Officials say tanker driver Michael Angelo Martin, 68, will not face charges.

Those with information about the second driver are asked to call Florida Highway Patrol at (813) 631-4020.
