Chelsea Bowden, 17, a Durant High School senior, followed in her grandmothers' footsteps when she was crowned Florida Strawberry festival queen Saturday night. Bowden's grandmothers, Barbara Bowden and Ruby Jean Redman, wore the crown in 1948 and 1953, respectively.

Bowden cried as 2011 queen Victoria Watkins placed the crown on Bowden's head following a four-hour pageant that was delayed about 20 minutes by a fire in a light fixture.

Bowden was selected from a field of 27 contestants. She is the daughter of Bud and Pam Bowden.
