A woman who was taking care of a Brooksville senior citizen has been arrested after using her patient's debit card for her own purposes, Hernando County deputies said.
Roniequea Sallie, 21, worked for Grannie Nannies between June and August and while in her patient's home, she stole and used a Compass Bank debit card, deputies said.
The original debit card was canceled by the bank, but Sallie contacted the bank and had a new debit card issued to the victim, deputies said. She then stole the newly issued card and used it to make more fraudulent transactions, they added.
The victim provided bank statements showing more than $1,114 in fraudulent transactions made to her cards, including several Domino's pizzas, two $402 ATM withdrawals and a visit to DK Nails in Spring Hill.
Video from several of the transactions were found by detectives and still photos were extracted. The victim identified Sallie from the photos, deputies said.
Sallie was interviewed at the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and after being advised of her rights admitted to making the transactions, detectives said. She was charged with fraudulent use of credit card, grand theft and identity theft, then was released on $6,000 bail.
