People curious about Hillsborough County's foster care and homeless teen communities can get a glimpse of them at two upcoming luncheons.
Hillsborough Kids Inc., the agency that oversees more than 2,000 local abused and neglected children and teens, is holding lunch-and-learn lectures to raise awareness about the area's abandoned and homeless teen population.
Participants are asked to donate a gift card of any amount in exchange for a catered lunch and the lecture. The cards will be used as holiday gifts for teens in the local foster care system.
On Dec. 7, a foster parent will share her experiences about caring for teens. On Dec. 14, the Lazy Days Center for Youth Development's homeless youth outreach program will be featured.
The events will be held each day from noon to 1 p.m. at Hillsborough Kids, 9391 N. Florida Ave. For more information, call (813)225-1105 ext. 1139.
