TAMPA - After breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home this morning, a Tampa man brandished a knife and threatened to kill her and another person, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Walter Lee Nelson, 56, was arrested about 3:20 a.m.
Deputies say shortly after midnight, he walked through an unlocked rear door of his ex-girlfriend's home and took out a 5-inch pocketknife. Nelson approached the woman and another person as they slept in the living room. Then he woke them and threatened to kill them, an arrest affidavit states.
Later, after a complaint against Nelson was filed, Nelson retuned and threatened them again, according to the affidavit.
Nelson faces two felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one felony count each of aggravated stalking and armed burglary of a dwelling. He remains in Orient Road Jail with no bail set.
Nelson, of 13923 N. 19th St., Unit B, was arrested for battery upon his ex-girlfriend Sept. 30, the affidavit states.
