Family Finds A Perfect Fit

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Douglas wasted no time fitting in with Allison and Keith Gadd, but he had to get over his shyness when he first met the Plant City couple.

The 7-year-old met the Gadds two years ago during a get-together at a video arcade that was organized by the Heart Gallery of Tampa Bay, which matches foster children with prospective parents.

"He was real shy when I first saw him and that's what stuck out in my mind because I like little shy kids," Allison Gadd said.

Douglas joined the Gadds for good last summer and since has come out of his shell. He loves sports, swimming, bouncing on a trampoline and hanging out with the family's three dogs and six cats.

After trying for years to have children, Allison Gadd, 41, said Douglas quickly worked his way into her heart.

"He matched perfectly with us. He has very similar personality to my husband," she said. "He's full of personality and very social. He makes friends easily."
