Inmate Escapes From Detention Facility In Citrus County

TAMPA - Deputies with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office are searching for a man who escaped from a Lecanto detention facility Friday afternoon.

Helicopter and K-9 units, along with officers and bloodhound teams from the Florida Department of Corrections, continued their search for 49-year-old James Coursey late Friday evening in the Lecanto area, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about Coursey to call 911 immediately and to not approach or confront him directly.

Coursey is described as 6'2", about 200 pounds with curly light brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue inmate uniform from the Citrus County Detention Facility.
