TAMPA - A South Tampa woman didn't seek treatment for her poodle, which had a broken leg, according to a Hillsborough County Animal Services spokeswoman.
Tampa police arrested Beth Medina, 42, at 7:30 a.m. today on a charge of felony animal cruelty.
Animal Services spokeswoman Marti Ryan said her agency has worked on the case for months.
"We presume it was hit by a car," Ryan said of the poodle. "We seized the dog, which was laying in her front yard in pain, in February," Ryan said. "The dog has been in foster care through a poodle rescue group we work with. We know definitively [Medina] is the owner."
Medina was taken to Orient Road Jail. Her bail was set at $2,000.
