Democrat Barack Obama outspent Republican John McCain by more than 3-1 on TV advertisements in Florida last week, with Tampa representing his second busiest target market for ads nationally, a study shows.

Nationally, the Wisconsin Advertising Project study of presidential campaign TV ads shows Obama and McCain spent a combined $28 million from Sept. 28 through Oct. 4, as both readied for the last month of campaigning. McCain and the Republican National Committee, which is helping to air pro-McCain ads, were outspent by Obama by $6 million.

Here's other numbers from the study.

• $2.213 million: the amount the Obama campaign spent on ads aired in Florida, second only to his spending in Ohio ($2.218 million);

• $659,000: the amount the McCain campaign spent in Florida, sixth behind his amounts in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Colorado.

• Six top markets for Obama ads: Las Vegas (1,288 airings); Tampa (1,069); Denver (1,059); Orlando (908); Milwaukee (832); Miami (824).

• Six top markets for McCain ads: Denver (932); Las Vegas (712); Green Bay, Wis. (583); Cleveland (509); Milwaukee (490); Reno, Nev., (483).

• Nearly 100 percent: McCain ads described by the study as "negative."
