President George W. Bush, making his last public address Thursday, was grayer, with wrinkles cut deeper into his forehead. But what do you expect after eight years, two wars, two recessions and Sept. 11?
Bush's weight has crept up a few pounds - 189.7 in 2001 to 192 in 2007, the last year he had a physical from which the results were made public. His pulse is a bit faster: His resting heart now beats 52 times a minute, compared with 43 his first year in office.
Bush, who often talks about growing old, says he has become more knowledgeable and wiser during the past eight years. Down deep, though, he says, he is the same.
