Patricia Lorenz has attitude.
And I mean that in a good way.
When her book "The 5 Things We Need to be Happy" (Guideposts, $15) showed up on my desk, it caught my attention. I don't know about you, but things seem pretty grim these days. If she had the key to happiness, I wanted to know her secret.
The Largo-based writer and inspirational speaker has life experience (she raised four kids) and a discipline that is certainly enviable. She's written 12 books, is a top contributing writer to the wildly popular Chicken Soup for the Soul series and has had more than 400 articles published in magazines and newspapers.
All that is fine. But what I admire most about Lorenz is, well, her cheerfulness. If she could just find a way to package that and sell it on the open market.
I asked Lorenz to share a few of her insights. She won't give them all away - you've got to buy the book for the whole enchilada - but here are a few life lessons she's learned in her six-plus decades. I'm already in a better mood.
