Erin Isaac is resigning as Gov. Charlie Crist's communications director.
Isaac said she gave the administration notice Tuesday night that she planned to seek another job.
She first began working for Crist during his 2006 campaign for governor and was appointed press secretary after the election. Isaac was promoted to communications director in June 2007.
She praised Crist as a leader and said he would make a "great senator," but she won't be working for Crist's Senate campaign.
Crist chief of staff Shane Strum said Isaac regularly worked 12- to 14-hour days.
Strum described Isaac as "a loyal member of the team."
