Get ready for the big chill - at least compared with the kind of temperatures that have had the Tampa Bay area sweating and sweltering the past couple of weeks.
With the rain out of the way, now comes the cool-down in the aftermath of the cold front that swept through the state Friday.
Highs today will make it only into the middle 70s, and a northwest wind will make it feel cooler than that. Tonight, lows are forecast to dip all the way into the lower 50s in Tampa and into the 40s in counties north of the area.
On Sunday, the mercury is expected to struggle to reach 70. That comes as welcome news, no doubt, to Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans who have endured steamy conditions the first two home games of the season.
The fall-like temperatures will remain in place until Tuesday, when readings are expected to return to the lower 80s.
