One person is dead and three others are seriously injured following a crash at U.S. 301 and Muddy Waters Trail, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
Authorities are still working to confirm the identities of those involved.
They said a 2005 Ford Expedition was traveling north on U.S. 301 while a 1999 Chrysler van was traveling south. They said the Expedition crossed the center line and into the path of the van; hitting in its left front.
The van's driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The remaining three people were taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.
The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m.
