A record number of students will graduate from the University of South Florida this spring, including Rose Burke, 81, whose education started in a one-room schoolhouse.
Burke is getting a degree in English literature from USF Sarasota-Manatee. The school's youngest graduate is Kristen Shalosky, 19, who has earned a bachelor's in international business from USF Tampa.
Ceremonies at the Sun Dome on the Tampa campus were Friday and Saturday. Sarasota-Manatee and St. Petersburg campus commencements are Sunday and those at the polytechnic campus are Monday.
Among the 5,608 graduates are 3,662 with bachelor's degrees, 1,073 with master's and 173 with doctoral and specialist degrees.
