On loan from the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Dane, a 2-year-old male koala, and Kirrhi, a 2-year-old female, have arrived at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo just in time for the Labor Day weekend.
But don't expect to see these two bouncing about. That's because they spend up to 20 hours a day sleeping or resting in the trees they inhabit.
The koalas are settling in at their new home in Wallaroo Station, part of the zoo's 4.5-acre Australia-themed children's zoo.
