A Temple Terrace gang member is charged with kidnapping two women - one of them a teenager, sexually assaulting them and taking videos of them having sex.
On Sept. 11, George Renju Thomas, 31, of 12607 Rain Forest St. gave a ride to a woman he had met walking down Williams Road, took her to his home and would not let her leave, according to Temple Terrace police. Then he forced her to have sex with him three times and threatened to kill her if she tried to get away, a police report says.
Two days later, she reached out to a friend on Facebook, trying to escape what she called "a Trap House," according to the police report. When the woman's friend arrived at Thomas' house, he pointed a gun at her and forced the women to have sex, which he recorded on his cell phone and a Web cam attached to a computer, the report says.
He forced one woman to have sex with him, threatening her with his 9mm semi-automatic, according to police.
Thomas, a member of the Folk Nation group of gangs, dropped off the women Thursday in St. Petersburg, the report says. They identified Thomas from a police photo, and officers who searched his home found it as the women described.
After he was arrested Saturday, Thomas told police he had sex with one of the women and recorded it, and also recorded the two women, according to police. One was 16 at the time, according to the report.
Thomas was charged with two counts of armed kidnapping, two counts of sexual battery with a weapon, one count of sexual performance of a child and one count of promoting the sexual performance of a child. He is being held without bail at the Hillsborough County Jail.
