The Kiwanis Sprayground in Dunedin features whimsical creatures, including "Nessie" that spray, gush and dump water onto kids. The Sprayground is open daily from 9 a.m. to sunset and is free! Kiwanis Sprayground is located in Highlander Park at 1937 Ed Eckert Drive off Michigan Boulevard.
Live in Sarasota? Check out the Steigerwaldt/Jockey Children's Fountain at Bayfront Park. The 4,000-gallon fountain shoots water from more than 30 jets.
Soak up some sun as you dodge water jets that burst, shoot and cascade down at Cypress Forest Park, 650 Pine Ave. in Oldsmar.
Okay, so it's not a splashpark. But we've seen kids having a blast playing in the fountains at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Ashley Drive in downton Tampa. Or you can test your skills on the interactive playground right behind the fountains.
Lowry Park Zoo and The Florida Aquarium in Tampa both have splash areas where kids can cool down with your paid admission.
