A touch of Hollywood comes to Clearwater tonight with the red-carpet local premiere of "Dolphin Tale" at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

Scheduled to attend are cast members Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Nathan Gamble, Austin Stowell, Austin Highsmith and Betsy Landin as well as many of the supporting actors and extras from the Tampa Bay area.

Also expected are the film's director, Charles Martin Smith, and producers Andrew Kosove, Richard Ingber, Robert Engelman and Steve Wegner. Others scheduled to attend are actor Montel Williams, Clearwater Marine Aquarium CEO and "Dolphin Tale" co-producer David Yates and Abby Stone, who trains Winter the dolphin.

Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman will not attend. Connick and Freeman are promoting the movie on talk shows this week. Judd is filming a movie in Europe.

The movie was filmed in Clearwater.

The local premiere follows a premiere last week in Los Angeles. The film opens nationwide in theaters Friday.

This special screening will benefit Clearwater Marine Aquarium and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

The film will be shown in 3-D on a 50-foot screen. The 3-D set-up was provided by American High Def, which has done screenings for major events, including the Grammys, and the premiere of the film "Avatar."

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $99, which includes two free admissions to Clearwater Marine Aquarium. To purchase tickets, go to www.seewinter.com.

"Dolphin Tale" was inspired by Winter, a dolphin that lost her tail in a crab trap and was rehabilitated at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Wednesday's screening is co-sponsored by Bright House Networks.
